Pamelia F. (Pam Waters) Corbin

Pamelia F. (Pam Waters) Corbin, 67, of Norwich, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 10, 2021 at Upstate Medical Center, with loved ones by her side. Pam was born on August 18, 1953 in Syracuse, NY. She was the first-born daughter of the late Charles A. Waters Jr. and Doris (Walker) Waters.
Pam grew up in the Greene area and graduated from Greene Central High School, class of 1971. She later attended the SUNY ESF Ranger school and SUNY Morrisville College where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Pam travelled when she was a young adult and lived in many states, as well as Germany for a period of time.
The true love of Pam’s life was for her creator Jehovah and the family he gave her. Pam demonstrated self-sacrificing love for her family, friends and neighbors. She cherished every moment she spent with her sons and her grandbabies, who affectionately referred to her as “Gramma Cozy.” Pam also loved the outdoors, and specifically the Adirondack area, where she lived for several years. She enjoyed observing wildlife, especially the gangly yet majestic moose which brought her laughter and filled her with awe. As a student of the SUNY Forestry School, she volunteered to dress as Smokey the Bear at the NY State Fair to help promote care for the outdoors for the NYS conservation department. The “bear suit” was very heavy and hot (especially in August) but she loved feeling like she was doing her part to save the forest. She was a lover of all things natural and organic. She was always reading to better understand the impact of industrial farming practices on our food supply and health.
Pam is survived by her two sons, Robert Corbin Jr. of Norwich; Keith (Stacey) Corbin of North Norwich. Her grandchildren, Shawna Corbin (Dakota Nelson) of McDonough; Benjamin Corbin of Norwich; Oakley (Ben) Burke of Verona, NY; great-grandchildren, Colton and Jordyn Hurlburt; Lane Nelson and new baby Nelson arriving in October.
In addition to her children, Pam is also survived by her siblings, Sharon (Waters) Cavness of Greene; Ellen (Jerry) Loughren of Oxford; Mark (Bonnie Anderson) Waters of Port Deposit, MD; Jean (Dan) Sharpe of Norwich. Nieces and nephews, Raymond Cavness of Binghamton; Rebecca (Cavness) Root of Greene; Michael (Terri) Waters of Norwich; Andrew (Sarah) Waters of Smyrna; Danny Sharpe of Norwich; Ryan (Ingrid Crampton) Sharpe of Norwich; Adrienne Sharpe of Binghamton; Bug (Jerry) and Marie Loughren of Norwich. Uncle and aunt, Frank and Sylvia Walker of Norwich, as well as many cousins. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her younger brother Randall Waters as well as other beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pam also held a special place in her heart for her dear friends Lee Petley and Wendy Matthews Lehmann.
Pam was a faithful member with the Norwich congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A memorial service will be held via Zoom Friday, June 18th at 6:00pm for anyone who would like to participate.
