Jacqueline M. Loop, 90 of Earlville, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Crouse Community Center, Morrisville. She was born in Earlville on May 2, 1931, a daughter of the late Paul and Florence Rodman Merkt.
She was a graduate of Earlville High School and Cortland State College with a Master’s in Education. On July 11, 1954, in Earlville, she was united in marriage to George W. Loop. He predeceased her on August 14, 1986. Mrs. Loop taught in Oxford and Clarence Schools and retired from Sherburne-Earlville Central after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Earlville United Methodist Church and the Chenango County Retired Teachers Group. She enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Surviving are her sons: Michael Loop of Earlville, Guy Loop of Hamilton; a granddaughter, Sabrina Loop of Hamilton; a sister, Barbara Carpenter of Morrisville and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers Richard and Donald Merkt.
In keeping with Jacqueline’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in the Earlville Cemetery.
