McDONOUGH – Ruth E. Mrosz, 89, of McDonough, passed away on Feb. 27, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility.
She was born on Nov. 24, 1920 in McDonough a daughter of the late Spencer and Hazel (Pike) Aldrich. On Dec. 28, 1941, she married Sam Mrosz, who predeceased her on April 9, 2007.
She is survived by her sisters and spouses, Irma Davis of Bend, Oregon, Rena and Andrew Gracin, Olive Sturges, and Eleanor and Albert Mirabito all of Norwich; her brothers and spouses, Harry and June Aldrich of Clearwater, Fla. and Elmer and Adelaide Aldrich of Oxford: and her sister in law, Jennie Albro of Utica. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her brother, Ray Aldrich and sister, Florence Genung.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of McDonough. Following high school she worked for a short time at the Norwich Knitting Co. In later years she worked as a domestic for several families in McDonough. Her favorite pastime was sewing and gardening.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the spring in Union Cemetery, McDonough.
