Joyce Elaine Bulsiewicz, of Seneca, South Carolina, passed away on February 5, 2021. Loving wife to Frank W. Bulsiewicz. Joyce was born to Vernon T. Rear, M.D. and Ruth Francis Rear on July 25, 1935 in Syracuse, New York. She is survived by Frank W. Bulsiewicz at home; daughter, Sarah Bulsiewicz Massios (husband, Scott), Seneca, SC; grandsons James Bulsiewicz, Phoenix, AZ, Nick Massios, Seneca, SC, Matthew Fasul and Stephen Fasul of Florida. She is predeceased by her parents, a brother, Thomas V. Rear, her son, Joseph Bulsiewicz, and grandson, Alexander Massios.
She received her early education starting in Syracuse, NY. She graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. degree in Science Education and Colgate University, Masters degree. While at Syracuse University she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Mrs. B, as she was lovingly called by her students, taught at Sherburne-Earlville High School for 24 years. She touched many hearts of her students. She volunteered her time as an EMT for 5 years for the Sherburne Fire Department. For 16 years, she served as Town of Sherburne and Village of Sherburne, Justice.
In her many years of serving the community she held many positions. She was a member of Chenango Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, Past President of the Sherburne-Earlville High School Band Boosters and was a Chenango County representative for the New York State Traffic Board. Mrs. Bulsiewicz was a member of New York Magistrates Association. She also served as a 3 term President of Chenango County Magistrates Association. She was a member of American Association of University Women, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Syracuse University chapter, and Rotary Clubs in Sherburne, NY and Seneca, SC.
She will always be loved and missed by many.
Calling hours for Joyce will be held at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY on Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 10am- 12pm, followed immediately by a funeral service and interment at West Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joyce’s honor may be made to Sherburne Fire Department, PO Box 575, Sherburne, New York 13460.
