Claude A. Squires, 91, a lifelong resident of Norwich, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021. Claude was born on December 21, 1929 to the late Alton and Ruth Squires. He was also predeceased by his sons, Robert Squires, Gary Squires, and Ricky Squires; his brothers, Percy Squires, and David Squires; his sisters, Flora Mae Frink, and Shirley Earl. Survivors include his wife, MaryLou Squires; his children, Ivan and Anne Dunagan, June Mapp, and Tammy and Bob Bishop; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Barbara Albertina, Nancy and Richard Simpson, and Norma Heald; and many nieces and nephews.
Claude was a hard worker, spending his career at Norwich Shoe Factory, retiring after many years of service.
A memorial service for Claude will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. with Pastor James Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
