NEW BERLIN – Thomas McIvin May, 62, of New Berlin, passed away suddenly on Feb. 15, 2010.
He was born Feb. 6, 1948 in Rochester, the son of Helen Grant and William May. His childhood was spent in the Norwich and South New Berlin areas, where he attended school. He married Evelyn Perrigo on Nov. 14, 1981 in New Berlin.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one stepson, David Perrigo; his brothers, Robert L. May of California and David Leisterman; and sisters, Kathy Addis of Florida and Susie May of Connecticut. He is also survived by his stepmother, Shirley May of Rochester.
Thomas served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years in the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Christy Rock #2782 in Norwich. He was a self-employed contractor and worked in the New Berlin area.
Thomas’ funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dakin Funeral Home in New Berlin, with the Rev. Alleson Ellis, minister of the United Methodist Church in New Berlin, officiating. The family will be in attendance for calling hours at the Dakin Funeral Home from noon until 2 p.m.
