Mary L. Phetteplace, 91, of Norwich passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Edward Phetteplace; her daughter, Beverly Meyers; and her sisters, Leona Manwarren, Ginny Carney, Rosie Satterlee, Kay Cummings, and Betty Combes. Survivors include her children, David and Sandy Phetteplace, and Christina and Mickey Meriah-Lucia; her grandchildren, Leeann and Bruce Hagen, Kelly and Steve Lerche, Gary and Susan Phetteplace, and Brian Phetteplace; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Jo and Harry Warner, and Becky and Dick Hagenbuch; her brother, Herbert and Cheryl Satterlee; and her good friend, Betty Frink.
Mary will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who helped raise her grand children and also babysat many of her nieces and nephews when they were growing up. She enjoyed morning glorys, playing bingo, dancing the two-step, and crocheting.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be announced in the spring. Mary’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Chenango Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility for the care Mary received during her stay there.
