Patricia A. Eldred, 87, well known caregiver to many children in the Oxford area, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020.
Patricia was the daughter of Roy and Marion Norris. She was the oldest of 10 children. On July 14, 1951 she married Arthur Eldred, who predeceased her in 1998.
Patricia was a 46 year member of the Oxford Fire Department and Auxillary. She enjoyed being active and serving her community. You could find her most Friday nights playing Bingo.
Patricia is survived by her eight children, Michael and Kathy Eldred, of Norwich, David Eldred and Sue Race, of Brisben, Peggy and Timothy Jeffrey, of Norwich, Wayne and Mindy-Jo Eldred, of Smithville Flats, Robert Eldred and Mary Calhoun, of Oxford and Brookfield, Christine and John Christopher Price, of South New Berlin, Kim and Richard Hamilton, of Norwich, and Joyce and Edward Saunders, of Bainbridge; her daughter in law, Chong Hui Eldred; her grandchildren, Joseph Eldred, Marisa and Jack Moyer, Jessica Eldred, Wayne II and Rachel Eldred, Toby and Chelsea Eldred, George Eldred, Nathaniel Eldred, Corrine Eldred, Sarah and Frank Diamond, Jennifer and Cory Price, Brian and Katie Price, Lucy Hamilton, Kaylee Hamilton, Cynthia Porter, Sean and Kiernan Hamilton, Amy Hamilton, Jeremy and Hannah Hamilton, and Dalton and Mary Saunders; grandchildren, April Frasier and Mandi Hamilton, and 29 great-grandchildren; numerous adopted grandchildren; and she was a special grandmother to her little girl, Adrianna Naber. Patricia is also survived by her sisters, Maryln Christian, of Fort Atkinson, WI, Nancy Beckwith, of Coventry, and Linda Daniels, of Revere, MA.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Marion Norris; her brothers, Gerald, Charles, Bruce, and Frank Norris; and her sisters, Barbara Brigham and Myra Norris.
Funeral services for Patricia will take place privately at the discretion of the family and she will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Oxford. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 9th, at R. J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich, from 10:30am until 1:30 p.m.
