NORWICH – Norma P. Depew, 98, formerly of Norwich and long time resident of Endicott, passed away peacefully after a long and full life on Feb. 4, 2010 at the Vestal Nursing Center. She is now reunited in Heaven with her husband Lyndon, son Warren, parents Manuel and Lottie Henry and sister Leota (Paul) Carnrike.
Norma was born on Dec. 4, 1911 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She was a graduate of the Norwich High School and on June 28, 1932 in Norwich, she married Lyndon Allen Depew. In August of 1952, they moved to Endicott, where she continued to make her home.
Norma loved God, her Berean Baptist Church, the Bible, nature, rocking and swinging. She was a talented cook and gave thousands of goodies to many family members and friends. Norma leaves many friends and family members who will miss her. Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers. Words cannot express our appreciation for the long time commitment and care that George Wilmont and many others provided to Norma.
Norma is survived by her daughter Hazel A. (George S.) Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla.; her three grandchildren Brenda (Craig) Cotter of Illinois, George S. (Tracy) Lewis Jr. of Valrico, Fla. and Gregory Lewis of Montana. Also surviving are her four great grandchildren, Philip and Angela Cotter, Spencer and Nicholas Lewis; two nieces, Colleen (Charles) Crandall and Joyce Barrows, along with several grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Norma will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen Carpenter of New Berlin will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 No. Broad St., Norwich, on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
