Lester Skulsky


SIDNEY – Lester Skulsky, 71, of Fox St., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
He was born on June 13, 1938 in Manhattan, a son of Samuel and Rose Levine Skulsky and received his education in New York City schools. Lester was a bus driver for Huntington Coach on Long Island where he was very active in the local union, serving as shop steward. Following his retirement in 2006, he moved to the Sidney area. Lester had previously been the owner and operator of an injection molding company, Scotts Plastics, Inc., in Syosset, Long Island. He enjoyed several hobbies, including photography, coin collecting and wood working.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Shari and Mark Bennett of Guilford,; Janet and Ken Springs of Fremont, Calif.; a son, Scott Skulsky of Hughson, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and David Friedberg of N.J.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul and Trish Skulsky, Long Island; and Jeffrey Skulsky of Manhattan; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday (today) from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home today from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery will be made in the spring.
