NORTH NORWICH – Claudette G. Walters, 75, former long time North Norwich resident, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 19, 2010 in the Residential Health Care Facility of Chenango Memorial Hospital where she has made her home for the past several years.
Claudette was born in December of 1934 in Rome, NY the daughter of Claude and Lela Paukette Haugh. She spent the early years of her life in the Rome area and eventually moved to Earlville where she attended the Sherburne schools. Her working career, which spanned 40 years, was with the Norwich Eaton Pharmaceutical Co. and its successors.
A private individual, Claudette was devoted to her job. She enjoyed a good time and was very set in her ways.
Claudette is survived by her nieces and nephews, Holly Haugh Blake of Hamilton, Danny Franklin of Norwich, Patty Tiffany of Lebanon, Jeff Franklin of Preston and Todd Franklin and his wife Jill of Sidney. Also surviving are her great nieces Erica Haugh and Shelby Blake and her long time friend Autumn Law of Norwich. Claudette was predeceased by her brother Claude Haugh.
A funeral service for Claudette will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, a from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Bove, pastor of St. Paul’s and St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Churches will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
