Connie Tesoriere


NORWICH – Concetta “Connie” Tesoriere, 86, of Birdsall Street, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Stromboli, Italy on April 4, 1923, Connie was the daughter of Joseph and Mary G. (Paino) Tesoriere. She moved with her family to the United States at the age of one and graduated from Norwich High School with the Class of 1941. Following her schooling, Connie began working at the Guernsey Memorial Library retiring in 1988 after forty-seven years.
Connie was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Ave Maria Guild of the church and of the Ladies of Charity. Connie enjoyed bowling and participated in several local women’s leagues.
She is survived by two sisters, Josephine Tesoriere of Norwich and Mary Heath and her husband, John, also of Norwich and a sister-in-law, Mary Tesoriere, of Frankfort. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  Connie was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Anthony Tesoriere.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Connie will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Bartholomew’s Church. Friends are invited to call at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Members of the Ave Maria Guild will recite the rosary at 9:30. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Connie may be made to either the Msgr. Festa Scholarship Fund or the Father Libera Scholarship for priests, East Main Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
