E. Marie Morey


EARLVILLE – Edith Marie Morey, 84, of Clyde St., passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at the Katherine Luther Home in Clinton.
Known to her family and friends as “Glad” she was born Nov. 12, 1925 in the Town of Sherburne, a daughter of Leslie and Edith Foster Reese, and was a graduate of Earlville High School. On Dec. 27, 1947, she married Marcel F. Morey in Earlville. Marie had worked for the Earlville Paper Box Co. for a short time, and then was a teacher‚s aide at Sherburne-Earlville Central School for over 25 years until her retirement. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving and kind wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a great cook! Bowling was one of her favorite pastimes. Marie enjoyed wintering in the Myrtle Beach, S.C. area for many years after retirement, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving are her husband, Marcel; her children, Cindy Morey of Palo Alto, CA; Marcia and Stephen Watson of Niles, MI; Gail and Patrick Lawrence of Sherburne; a sister-in-law, Anne Reese of St. Louis, MO; her grandchildren, Jessica and Mike Mitchell of Kendall, NY; Joshua Trudeau of Whitesboro; Tony Lawrence of Sherburne; Nicole and Dave Franklin of Sherburne; and Rebecca Lawrence of LaGrange, NC; great-grandchildren, Hailee Mitchell, Cody and Emily Lawrence and Alivia Franklin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Robert and Leslie Reese, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Burial will be in the Earlville Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
