June Aiken


McDONOUGH – June G. Aiken, 86 formerly of McDonough, passed away on Dec. 23, 2009 in Rochester.
She was born on June 24, 1923 in Binghamton a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Lord) Granger. On Aug.t 18, 1944 in Poland, NY she married Donald Aiken, who passed away on Feb. 11, 2001.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Aiken of Rochester and Gary L. Aiken of Maybrook; her granddaughter Denise and husband Brian Lake of Walden; and her great grandson, Jason Lake. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, George Granger, Jerome Granger, Alma Bradt and Betty Wage; her granddaughter, Nicole Aiken, and her great grandson, Jeremy Lake.
June was a member of the McDonough United Methodist Church and was the church organist for many years. She was a member of the McDonough Improvement Committee and helped with the food pantry. She retired from the WRC Home in Oxford.
Funeral services will be held on at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26 at the McDonough United Methodist Church, with former pastor, Rev. Kenneth Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Union Cemetery, McDonough.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford.
