Darrell D. Lawson, 79, of Norwich passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 unexpectedly at his home in North Carolina. He was born August 2, 1939 in Norwich.
Son of Irene Reger and Lorence Lawson, he graduated from Norwich Central School in 1958. Darrell served in the U.S. Army. Darrell worked for 28 years for the Chenango County Sheriff’s Dept. He then went to work for Norwich Pharmaceuticals, T.E.R. construction, and Pro-Tel. He retired in 2004.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 36 years, Atha (Susie) Lawson, Christine and Acie Hughes, Connie and Brad Thronton, Dana and Steve Gibbon, a son Jake Peptis and Sarah Crawford. 9 grandchildren, Erin and Bailey Hughes, Jason and Ashley Lawson, Troy, Zachary and Catilyn Thornton, Artemis Peptis and Thomas Gibbon. 1 great grandson, Myles Hughes.
Darrell was predeceased by his parents, an infant daughter, Darlene, and a son, Eric Peptis. Darrell is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Pat Lawson, a sister Mary Demerce, several nieces and nephews. Also an adopted son Joe Pastore.
A celebration of life will be held at Taylor’s Country House on Saturday, November 24 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
