Alan Brown


LEBANON – Alan T. Brown, 81, of River Rd., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
He was born June 6, 1928 in the Town of Nelson, a son of Fay and Leva Westcott Brown and was a graduate of Morrisville High School in 1945. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On Oct. 17, 1953, Alan married Carol Sisbower in West Eaton. She predeceased him on Aug. 28, 1984. He married Doris Deland on July 30, 1999 in Hamilton. A resident of the Hamilton area since 1962, Alan was a truck driver for Cossitt Concrete, Herman Forwarding and Howards Express until his retirement in 1992.
Alan was a member of the American Legion Post #375 of Hamilton and the Teamsters Union Local #182 of Utica.
Surviving are his wife, Doris, his children, Debra and Henry “Butch” Becker of Sheds; Alana and Cliff Sheckler and Hyle Brown of Hamilton; Christopher Brown and his partner, John Brown of Utica;  five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his step-children, Sherry and Val Carr of Woodland Park, Colo.; Howard and Kyong Seeley of Severn, Md.; six step-grandchildren; a brother, Warren Brown and Marion of Munnsville; a sister, Irene Johnston of Eaton; two sisters-in-law, Betty Brown of Earlville and Sharon Brown of Eaton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Paul and Harold Brown.
Graveside services will be held in the West Eaton Cemetery at a time to be announced in the spring.
