Julie Stratton


BUFFALO – Julie I. (Dopkin) Stratton passed suddenly on Dec. 12, 2009.  Beloved wife of Michael; devoted mother of Samuel and Benjamin. She is survived by Mother: Molly Dopkin, and Father: Brian (Patti) Dopkin, her Mother and Father-in-Law, Greg and Rosalyn Grosvenor. Also survived by her sister Amy (Andrew) Little and her brother, Joseph Dopkin, and her nephew Ryan Little. Also survived by her Aunt, Cathy Morgan and husband Bill and her Uncle Steve Dopkin and Aunt Florence.
 Julie was a devoted wife and mother. Caring for her family was her main priority which brought great pride and joy to her. She created a loving home for family while enjoying her passion for gourmet cooking and gardening.
After graduation from Amherst High School, Julie continued her higher education at Buffalo State College ultimately completing her Masters Degree with Magna Cum Laud Honors.
Julie’s determination to help people in need allowed her to devote herself to volunteer at the Niagara Speech and Hearing Clinic, care for adults with special needs through People Inc. She also supported seniors with dementia.  She was also a private tutor to many students. 
In 2003 at the Cantalician for Learning Center, Julie started her professional career as a Special Education Teacher. She then worked in Administration as the Evaluations Coordinator helping to place children with special needs, In her devotion to the Cantalician Center, Julie was creating a program to service children with autism.  
There will be a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave., Buffalo.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stratton Family Memorial fund at any Key Bank location.
