Nancy Manheim


Nancy E. Manheim, 73, of South New Berlin, NY left to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in Norwich, NY after battling a long illness.

She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Born on April 14, 1945, in Paterson, NJ, Nancy was the daughter of Bertha (Eppler) and Raymond Coffman Padien.

She lived in Fairlawn until she moved to Ormond Road in Upper Greenwood Lane, NJ, to the home her father built in 1952. She graduated from West Milford High School in the first graduating class there. After living in Patterson, she later moved to Oxford, NY. She was employed as a nurse’s aide with the Chenango Valley Nursing Home and later the New York State Veteran’s Home.

On December 16, 1987, in Las Vegas, NV, she married the love of her life, William Manheim, who survives. Together they would spend nearly 31 years together. They resided in California, later returning to reside in South New Berlin, NY, in 1998.

She enjoyed spending time during the summer with their friends and neighbors in Pulaski, NY at their lake house on Lake Ontario. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church of South New Berlin, where she loved to worship and enjoy the fellowship there. She cherished time with her eight grandchildren and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by Debra (Philip) Morton of Jacksonville, FL, Howard Graham Jr. of Binghamton, Raymond Graham of Oxford and Kimberly (Scott) Davidson of Sherburne, Heather Manheim (Todd Mitchell) of Ventura, CA, and Tara Cannon of Huntington Beach, CA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Hailey and Emily Morton, Luke and Matthew Graham, Lindsey and Kendra Davidson, and Noah and Sawyer Cannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Arleen Faber, Beverly DeMao, and Judy Pillar Schultz.

A funeral service for Nancy will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, where the Rev. Robert Decker, Pastor, First Baptist Church of South New Berlin, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery in South New Berlin. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
