Sally A. Supensky


Sally A. Supensky, 81, a lifelong resident of the Norwich area and well respected Family Nurse Practitioner passed away Tuesday morning, September 4, 2018 at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.

Sally was born on August 1, 1937 in Norwich the daughter of Paul and Amy (Brookins) Loeffler.

She grew up in Norwich and was a 1955 graduate of the Norwich High School. She furthered her education by attending SUNY Morrisville earning her Associates Degree and Binghamton University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Sally’s career began at Fox Hospital where she worked for a brief period of time. In the early 1960’s she became employed by Chenango Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk until she earned her nursing degree. She remained with Chenango Memorial for many years where she became very well respected.

Upon her so called retirement, which is a word that really wasn’t part of Sally’s vocabulary, she went to work as a Family Nurse Practioner for Camp Georgetown and Camp Pharsalia. Sally was also an instructor at SUNY Morrisville, Norwich Campus, as well as BOCES.

Sally’s life was about helping others which she did with dignity and a smile. She enjoyed life and always liked a good time. In 1956 she married Lee Supensky who predeceased her.

Sally is survived by her sons; Link (Jeanne “Sue”) Supensky of Plymouth, Lee (Melissa) Supensky of Norwich and Lex (Jamey) Supensky of Norwich, her grandchildren Leann, Derrick, Conner, Brayden, Carter, Kristofer and Lily. Also surviving are her siblings; Christina Myrick of Norwich, half sister Arlene Holland of Norwich, Gary Loeffler of Vestal and her sister-in-law Nancy Loeffler of Norwich. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Besides her husband Lee, Sally was predeceased by her sister Joan Loeffler and brother Jerrold (Jack) Loeffler.

In keeping with Sally’s wishes there will be no calling hours or formal services.
