Gloria J. Carr


Gloria J. Carr, 67, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of Sherburne, NY, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro.

She was born May 16, 1951 in Oneida, NY, a daughter of the late Lawrence N., Sr. and Muriel Turner Wedge and was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School. Gloria married Wayne LeRoy Carr in Lebanon, NY who predeceased her on November 26, 2003.

They had lived in Georgetown and Seneca Falls, NY, later moving to Lake Worth, TX for Wayne’s employment. Gloria had been a nurse’s aide at the Gerrit Smith Infirmary in Eaton, NY, and had also worked at the Taylor-Brown Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, NY.

Most importantly, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the times spent with her family. She also enjoyed collecting items of many different themes.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kelly Carr and their children, Kailyn Patricia and Zachary Michael of Tioga, PA; Andrew and Laura Carr and their children, Kathryn Muriel and Andrew Wayne, II of Bristol, VA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maureen and Robert Tackabury of Poolville, NY; Julie and David Curry of Sherburne; Mary Beth and Ken Masker of Georgetown; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence N., Jr and Deborah Wedge of Lebanon; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, NY, followed by burial in the Earlville Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
