Cheryl J. Smiley, of Norwich, passed away July 10, 2018 at Valley View Nursing Home. She was born in Montreal, Canada on January 8, 1952.

She spent many years in Buffalo, NY prior to moving to Norwich, NY in 1975.

Her passions were her grandbabies, watching the Buffalo Bills, drinking Pepsi, drawing portraits, playing guitar, listening to music and visiting the ocean.

She was very proud of her Canadian heritage and frequently drove to Canada to spend time with her mother. Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Leona and Kenneth Smiley; her brother, William Smiley and her baby boy, Stephen Dicks. Cheryl is survived by her children, Kara Conklin of Norwich, Michael Conklin of Woodacre, CA, Harry Myers III of Norwich, Cheryl Myers of Sherburne and Matthew Dicks of Norwich; her 13 grandbabies and 1 great grandbaby; and her brother, Kenneth Smiley Jr. of Myrtle Beach.

Cheryl’s family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Valley View Nursing Home for taking care of her through the last several years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home in Norwich.
