William (Bill) Martin Schwind, 66, of Gordonsville, Virginia died at his residence on Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born on July 18, 1951 in Norwich, NY to the late Ernest and Gertrude Schwind. He was preceded in death by one brother Ernest Schwind, Jr. and two sisters Dorothy Dopp and Paula Brannen.
He is survived by two daughters Sara Chiles and her husband John, and Elizabeth Shifflett, all of Gordonsville; one son Eric Schwind of
Arlington, VA; four grandchildren Bryant and Morgan Chiles and Parker and Eva Shifflett; two brothers Richard Schwind and his wife Jane of Central Square, NY and David Schwind and his wife Susanne of Mead, CO; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He attended SUNY of Oswego, NY, worked for many years as a skilled craftsman, and was retired from Orange County, VA as Building Official.
He spent many years as an active member of the Gordonsville Jaycees and Gordonsville Lions Club, and he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and music.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at
Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation.
