Lee Eric Shaffer

Lee Eric Shaffer, 59, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away in Arlington, Texas on Thursday, June 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Lee was born in Norwich on July 18, 1958, along with his twin brother Roy, to LeRoy and Mary Jane Shaffer. He was a hard worker all of his life and as a young boy he helped out in the family maple syrup business. Lee was a 1977 graduate of the Norwich High School and later joined the military where he served in the United States Army for four years. Following his discharge Lee then moved to Texas where he spent most of his life and was employed in the manufacturing field. He loved working with machinery and his Texas work family.
Lee had a big heart and enjoyed helping family and friends. He loved spending time with his nieces, nephews and could always be found working on his vehicles.
Our lives are diminished by the loss of this wonderful man and he will be greatly missed. The sound of his contagious laugh, his willingness to always help someone in need and his love for family will forever remain in our hearts.
Lee was a beloved son, brother and uncle who was known to all as “Uncle Leburb” and friend.
Lee was predeceased by his parent LeRoy and Mary Jane Shaffer, his sister Edie Holmquist, brother-in-law Edward Holmquist and his niece Tracy Holmquist.
Lee is survived by his three brothers, one sister, nine nieces and nephews and twenty five great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors for Lee will be held on Tuesday, June 26, at 1:30 pm from the East Pharsalia Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home.
