Robert (Bob) Murdoch Jones, age 81, died in his sleep at home in Pembroke Pines, FL on December 8, 2017.

Bob was born in Staten Island, NY in 1936, eldest child of Robert J and Vera (Ford) Jones, and moved to Norwich in 1951.

He graduated from Norwich High School in 1954, and frequently attended his high school reunions.

Bob graduated from Lafayette College in 1958, and began his career with the C & U (Chenango & Unadilla) Telephone Company in Norwich. He was a telephone engineer for over 30 years, retiring from Bell South Miami in 1997.

In 1962 he married Sallie Runyon , and they have 3 children Teresa (husband Jeff Breiner) of Raleigh, NC, son Bob (wife Tabitha), and son Matthew (wife Madeline) of Plantation, FL.

There are five grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Dorothea Johnson. Bob is survived by his sister Martha (Marty) Hoover (husband Terrin) of Bloomsburg, PA and Chenango Lake.
