Jeffrey L. Kennedy


Jeffrey L. “Jeff” “Bub” Kennedy, 65, formally of Otselic, NY and most recently of Lake Wales, FL, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 following an illness.

Jeff was born December 13, 1952 in Norwich, NY and spent his childhood growing up on the family farm in Otselic.

He graduated from Otselic Valley Central School in 1971 and immediately began work for Remlap Construction Co. until his retirement.

Always a hard worker, Jeff was a skilled mason, one of the best. A selfless and humble man, Jeff enjoyed the simple things in life, the rain, motorcycle rides and in his later years, early morning boat rides with his dog, Ally. After retirement, Jeff kept busy by designing and building projects at his son’s home in Lake Wales, FL.

Jeff is survived by his children Kellie Forrest (Jeffrey Forrest) of South Otselic, NY, Jeffrey Kennedy (Veronica Kennedy) of Lake Wales, FL and Shannon Kennedy (Richard Guiles) of Smyrna, NY; his brother, James Kennedy (Arlene Dean) of Davenport, FL; his sister, Jo Forsythe (Lou Forsythe) of Frostproof, FL; and his grandsons, Zachary Forrrest, Garrett Forrest and Hayden Guiles. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Jeff is predeceased by his parents, Norman and Ginger (Miller) Kennedy; his brothers, John Kennedy and Jerald Kennedy; his son, Adrien Kennedy; and his grandson, Harper Guiles.

Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jeff’s life on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the American Legion in South Otselic, NY at 1:00pm.
