Georgia Henzler


Georgia Henzler, 69 of Norwich passed away on June 4, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born June 18, 1948 in Norwich the daughter of Rowland and Mary (Smith) Harvey. On February 24, 1968 she married Linton (Jack) Henzler, who survives.

Besides her husband, Jack she is survived by her children, Heather Chiavelli and husband Rich of Whitney Point, Scott Henzler of Norwich, and Heidi Henzler and life partner Chris Jaycox of Norwich; her grandchildren, Linden Henzler, Ashley Harris, Derek and Courtney Harris, Aiden Marvin, and Autumn Chiavelli; her great grandson, Skylar; her brother Michael and wife LaLonda of Oregon; her uncle William Harvey of Oxford. Several cousins also survive. She will be missed by her dog Joey.

Georgia graduated from Oxford Academy and Central School, Class of 1966. She worked at The Bida Home, Unison and Grant’s before working as a teller at NBT Bank.

She had owned and operated Fins and Feathers Pet Store. She made jewelry for sale in her free time. She was very active with Project Children bringing children from Northern Ireland to Norwich for summer vacations.

She enjoyed bowling at Plaza Lanes, where she served as an officer of several leagues.

She loved to play in the APA Pool League.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 4:00 PM from the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford.

Burial in Riverview Cemetery will be Monday at 11:00 AM.

Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Emergency Squad, PO Box 172, Oxford, NY or Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich, NY.
