Richard Ernest “Dick” Sprague, 86, of South Main St., passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home in Norwich.

He was born March 2, 1932 in Bloomville, NY, a son of Ernest and Dorothy Burdick Sprague. He received his early education in Bloomville, Westville and Batavia State School and was a graduate of Binghamton High School.

On July 15, 1961, Richard married Sue E. Vogelgsang in Oxford, NY. Dick worked for the Blind Work Assoc. for more than 25 years, and for Universal Instruments in Binghamton for over 18 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earlville where he played bongos during services.

Surviving are his wife, Sue; several nieces and nephews including a niece, Pat (Ted) Winsor of Milford; and a nephew, Jerry Young of Fort Plain. He was predeceased by a sister, June Young and a brother, Harold Sprague.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, West Main St., Earlville.

Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
