Melody Ann Thomas, 54, a lifelong Norwich resident passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.

Melody was born on August 1, 1963 in Norwich the daughter of Ronald and Carol Ann (Martini) Thomas Sr. She grew up in the area and was a graduate of the Sherburne-Earlville Central School. During her school years she marched with the Norwich Lancerettes carrying the rifle.

Over the years she worked at marketing, Arby’s and merchandising.
Melody was a lover of animals and would often have cats, rabbits and any other animal that needed to be loved and cared for.

She loved spending time with her family and there was nothing more important to her than her girls and grandbabies.

Melody is survived by her daughters; Desiree Dier of Norwich, Ashley Wright of Norwich, Amber Thomas of Edmeston, Heather Pollock of Norwich and Renee Towndrow also of Norwich. She is also survived by her siblings; Bonnie (Sid) Westcott and Maureen (Doug) Cooley all of Sherburne, Ronald Thomas Jr. of Norwich, Kinsley Thomas of Sidney and Fred (Ruthann) Thomas of Norwich. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, many step brothers and step sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service for Melody will be held on Thursday, May 17, at 2:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Pastor Matt Frayer of the Bible Baptist Church will officiate.

There will be no calling hours and interment will be private.
