Samuel B. Donnelly Sr.


Samuel B. (Snoopy) Donnelly Sr., 68, a lifelong resident of Norwich, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, at his home with his family by his side.

Sam was born on October 11, 1949 in Norwich the son of Roland Donnelly Sr. and Marion Murray.

He grew up in Norwich where he attended the local schools.

On November 16, 1968 in Norwich he married Patricia Bair. Following his marriage he lived for a period of time in Marlborough, Mass. Where he worked for the Frye Boot Co. and the Hudson Combing Co. In the early 1980’s he returned with his family to the Norwich area.

Sam was a “jack of all trades”. Throughout his years in Norwich he worked as a scrapper, hauled cattle, drove truck for the Town of Plymouth, the Norwich Shoe Co. and Red–D-Pak in No. Norwich.

Sam is survived by his wife Patricia of Norwich, his children Samuel (Deb) Donnelly Jr. of Oriskany Falls, Gordon (Ashely Aikins) Donnelly of Norwich, Clifford (Martina) Donnelly of Earlville and Steven (Jennifer) Donnelly of Bainbridge. Also surviving are his siblings Rhonda Coughlin of Sherburne, Darlene Smith of Norwich, Mary (Charles) Brown of FL, Kendra (Mike McGraw) Donnelly of Sherburne, Roland (Joyce) Donnelly Jr. of Smyrna and James (Cora) Donnelly of Norwich, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A funeral service for Sam will be held on Friday, May 11, at 1:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Pastor Matt Frayer of the Bible Baptist Church will officiate.

Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Friday form 10:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
