William Aubrey


NORWICH – William W. “Bill” Aubrey, 82, formerly of Norwich and South New Berlin and most recently a resident of the New York State Veterans’ Home of Oxford, passed away early Friday morning, Nov. 27, 2009 at the Veterans’ Home.
Bill was born in May of 1927 in Shelby, the son of William P. and Alma Fearby White and at an early age was adopted by James Arthur and Ruth Dixson Aubrey. He lived his entire life in the Norwich and South New Berlin area and was a graduate of the South New Berlin School. In 1944 Bill entered the United States Navy serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1946. Over the years Bill was employed by the Youngs Oil Co. of Norwich, had driven taxi and had worked for the O&W Railroad. He will best be remembered working for De-Tec Limo Service of Norwich chauffeuring individuals to and from airports. Bill had also been a member of the Ponderosa Club.
Bill is survived by his daughter Nancy Aubrey of Norwich and his sister June Grove of El Dorado, Calif.
Funeral and committal services for Bill will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery of South New Berlin. Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10.
