Anthony Werner


Anthony Werner, 69 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY, formerly of Rockland and Orange Counties, passed away on April 18, 2018 in Cooperstown, NY
Anthony was born on December 4, 1948 in Nyack, NY the son of the late Eigil Werner and Alicia P. (Romanik) Babcock and the late Step son of Joseph Babcock.

His childhood was spent in Rockland County where he attended Nyack, High School.

On July 2, 1995 he married Susan M. Keene in New Berlin. She predeceased him on January 31, 2015.

Anthony was a self-employed construction contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and volunteering in his free time at Breaside Camp in Middletown, NY. Anthony was loved by many, he was a great friend and wonderful grandfather “Pop”.

He is survived by his children; Stephanie Werner of Washingtonville, NY, Anthony Werner of Beacon, NY, and Lynn & John DeForest of Norwich, NY. He is also survived by many grandchildren Anthony A. Werner Jr., Angelina Werner, Tegan DeForest, Amanda Haaland and Dustinly Ramsell.

He was predeceased by his brothers: Ernie, Steven, Richard, and Dennis.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on May 19, 2018 at the Norwich Elks Lodge, 14 East Main Street Norwich, NY 13815 from 12 to 3 pm. A private committal ceremony and short prayer service will be held at the Burlington Flats Cemetery that evening at 5pm for family and close friends only.

In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to Braeside Camp 640 East Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
