Edith Bunting


Edith M. Bunting, 96, formerly of Cortland Street, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville, NY.

Born September 18, 1921, in Greene, NY, Edith was the daughter of Norman and Bessie (Yarnes) Truesdell. She attended Greene schools and graduated from Greene High School.

Shortly after graduating, on March 3, 1939, Edith married Charles Bunting, who preceded Edith in death. For most of her working life, Edith worked on several dairy farms owned by her family. Edith took pride in the fastidious condition of her home, lawn, and gardens.

With Charles, Edith would raise four children, each of whom she cherished. She is survived by Carol (Richard) Landers, of Willet, Barbara Root, of Norwich, and William (Joanne) Bunting, of Somerset, PA; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and half-brother, Richard Angle, of Oxford. Edith was also predeceased by her son, James Bunting, three sisters, half-brother, Leon Truesdell, and son-in-law, William Root.
Funeral services for Edith will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Norwich, NY, where Rev. Jen Westervelt, pastor, Canasawacta Valley Free Methodist Church, will officiate.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow at Eastside Cemetery in Afton, NY.
