Gary A. Stukey age 68 of Newton passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.
Cremation rites will be accorded.

Burial will be at a later date.

Gary was born on August 12, 1949 in Norwich, New York the son of Marilyn White. Gary served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On July 21, 1990, Gary married Ingrid Popp. She preceded him in death October 25, 2012. Gary was a retired carpenter.

He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. Gary was very artistic, enjoying drawing, painting and woodworking. He loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Gary will be loved and remembered by his children Lucas (Stephanie) Shaffer of Effingham, Candy Shaffer of Robinson, Tonya Shaffer of Newton and Theresa (Dan) Decker of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren Blaine, Shaley, Allison, Hunter, Jessica husband Eric, Michael wife Jaclyn, Elizabeth husband Hector and Joshua; great grandchildren Joseph, Caleb, and Jason; brother Jake Hawley of New York and sisters Patricia Benton and Tammy both of New York.
