Doris Grace Ford was welcomed into the arms of the Lord Thurs. March 22nd. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Ford. She is survived by her daughter Donna Ford, a sister Betty Strever of Candor NY and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her Old Mill Restaurant family most especially Thomas Rutenber who became like a son and several wonderful and dear friends. She graduated from Owego Free Academy and Tony’s Beauty School in Binghamton and was a hair stylist in her 20’s.

She resided in Johnson City 30 yrs and was very active in Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She loved to travel and was fortunate enough to travel the world and adventurous enough to even visit Antarctica in 2006.

She and her daughter have owned the Old Mill Restaurant since 1981 where she was the pastry chef by day and receptionist at night greeting the customers with her warm smile. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10am at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main Street Johnson City.

Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-7 pm at the Barber Memorial Home. The Daughters of the Nile and the Order of The Easter Star Otseningo Lodge will have a service at 6pm.
