OXFORD – Barbara Mary Radtke, 65 of Oxford, formerly of New York City passed away on Nov. 19, 2009 at her home following a valiant life dealing with rheumatoid arthritis. She was born on Sept. 11, 1944 in Queens, a daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Duminski) Blazejewski.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Jennifer and Owen Kelly of Maspeth; her brother, Stephen Blazejewski of Harpursville; and several cousins.
She was a devoted member of the PS 121, PTA in New York. She had worked for the New York City Board of Education in their special needs placement unit. She and her family enjoyed camping at Bowman Lake State Park. She purchased her home in Oxford, where she enjoyed the change of seasons, especially the fall colors. She also liked the Victorian homes in Oxford and the Christmas lights. She loved to read and meeting new people. She enjoyed her garden, when she was able to take care of it.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Hess-Miller Funeral Home,64-19 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church, Middle Village.
