Leona B. Manwarren


Leona B. Manwarren, 80, of Plymouth, passed away February 18th, 2018 at Chenango Memorial Hospital with her loving family around her. She was born on June 2, 1937 in McDonough, NY to the late John M. and Gertrude G. Banks Satterlee. On September 12, 1954 she married Earl (Chuck) ManWarren Jr. who predeceased her on August 19, 2000. Leona is also predeceased by her sisters: MaryElizabeth Satterlee, Viola Jane Satterlee, Rosie Satterlee, and Virginia Carney.
A lifelong resident of Chenango County, she worked at the Knitting Mill, Norwich Shoe Company for 31 years, and later at Champion, and G. Williker’s until she retired in 1997. Leona had a great sense of humor, enjoyed music, “The Wheel”, soaps with her sisters, sewing, flowers, a nice picnic, an occasional trip to the casino, her coffee in the morning, and spending time with her friends and her family, especially the kids. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her children: Charlotte ManWarren and partner Lee Crane, son James E. ManWarren, daughter Tracie Vinal and son-in-law John Vinal Jr.; Grandchildren: Jordan and J.T. Vinal, Kadison and Camryn Shaver. She is survived by her brother Herbert (Cheryl) Satterlee, and her sisters: Katherine Cummings, Mary (Edward) Phetteplace, Betty (John) Combes, Josephine (Harry) Warner, and Becky (Dick) Hagenbuch. Leona is survived by many nieces, nephews, and Mony’s Dream Team: Tamie, Mike, Kaitlyn, Logan, Bobbie, and John, an enormous, heartfelt thank you will never be enough. Thank you for everything: your care and support, your gentleness and toughness, your laughter and love, and for your precious time.
Friends are invited to call at the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home at 116 N. Broad St., Norwich from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 with a celebration of Leona’s life to follow at the Plymouth Fire House. For those who wish to call, it was Leona’s request that you wear bright colors to celebrate her life...she always liked a good party.
