Dale R. Mumbolo


Dale R. Mumbulo, 70, a lifelong resident of Oxford passed away on Tuesday, February 14th. He was born in Norwich on June 2, 1947 and after graduating high school, he became a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the NY State Veteran’s Home in Oxford where he spent over 30 years in employment. In addition to his employment, Dale also volunteered his time with the Oxford Emergency Squad for many years as he was a man who enjoyed helping people and giving back to his community. He enjoyed technology and could often be found enhancing police scanners and other electronic devices. He loved to travel, taking trips to the Bahamas, Mexico and many times to Florida. He was a fan of the New York Yankees, NASCAR, Syracuse athletics and restaurants. Most of all, Dale loved his family, often inviting them to join him at a local restaurant to share a meal. Dale was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathy Mumbulo; his parents, Lawson and Drieta Mumbulo; and his brother, Douglas Mumbulo. Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Lynne and Richard Angle; his granddaughters, Michelle and Sara Heeman; his brother, Ben Mumbulo, Sr.; his sister, Frances Walker; three sisters in law, Debbie, Sandy, Willa and Sharon; his brother in law, Robert; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Dale will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21st, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. with Pastor Rachel Morse officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Dale’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Bida Home for the compassion and kindness that was shown to him.
