Gary Weeks


NORWICH – Gary M. Weeks, 56, of Norwich and Plymouth, passed away Sat. evening, Oct. 7, 2006 in Wilson Hospital of Johnson City.
The son of Maurice and Bertha (Beacraft) Weeks, Gary was born in Norwich on Jan. 24,1950. He attended Norwich schools but left school early to join the U.S. Navy. While serving his country, Gary also earned his GED. Returning from the service, he worked as a truck driver for the City of Norwich and for a time was a partner in Jim’s Used Car Sales in Sherburne. From 1996 to 2000, Gary lived in Binghamton, then returned to Chenango County.
On June 24,1982, in Auburn, Gary married Judy Wright. He is survived by his wife, Judy Weeks of Norwich; his children: Tonya Jenkins of Norwich, Sonya Hughey and husband Pleasie of Beaver Meadow, and Tanya Garrett and husband Milton of Binghamton; by brothers: Randy Weeks and wife Ada, and Michael Weeks and wife Laurie; and by grandchildren: Latoya Jenkins, Sasha Adams; Curissa, Tatiana, Cashmire, Fa’Ziem, and Ba’Shiem Jenkins; Scott Davenport, Pleasie Hughey III, Victoria Hughey, and Ta’Kier Miller. He is also survived by great granddaughter Latoya Gathers, and was predeceased by his parents, brother David Weeks, and granddaughter Freesia Faust.
Funeral services for Gary will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, pastor of the Beaver Meadow Christian Church, will officiate. Burial with full military rites will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service at 10.
