Glenn Angell


LINCKLAEN – Glenn R. Angell, 71, of Paradise Hill Road, Lincklaen Center, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 in Norwich.
He was born in DeRuyter. He was Elders Quorum President of the Norwich Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
For 30 years, Glenn served in local politics as Lincklaen Town Supervisor from 1974-1995, chairman of the Chenango County Board of Supervisors from 1988-1992 and Lincklaen Town Council from 1996-2003. His biggest accomplishments were paving Lincklaen roads, repairing bridges in the 1990s, doubling the size of the Chenango County Office Building, implementing the construction of the Chenango County Solid Waste Facility in Pharsalia, and successfully fighting the proposed nuclear waste dump in 1989.
Glenn spent 50 years as a dairy farmer, first at his father Burnell’s Linckview Farms and then at Sabrown Farms.
Surviving are his wife Lo’ve; son Zadoc of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter Any (Michael) Lamonica of Juneau, Alaska; their mother Jeanne Angell of South Otselic; brother Kenneth (Cindy) of Lincklaen; and sister Lois Gast of Lincklaen Center. He was predeceased by his parents, Burnell and Marjorie Angell and his sister, Ruth Friedman.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, DeRuyter. Calling hours will be Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
