Bonnie Lou Mort

Bonnie Lou Mort, 74, of South Plymouth passed away on Wednesday morning, January 31, 2018 following a short, but hard fought battle with cancer. Bonnie began her career as a nurse’s aide in Princeton, NJ and continued for several years after moving to South Plymouth. She also worked in her own house cleaning business serving customers in the Norwich area and was a longtime caregiver for her husband David. She was a member of the First Church of Christian Science in Boston, MA and Oneonta, NY. Bonnie loved Jesus, her church and her family dearly. In addition to her family, Bonnie enjoyed her home, feeding and watching “her” birds, researching family history and doing beautiful embroidery. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband, David Mort and her parents, Richard and Dorothy Van Nostrand. Survivors include her sister and brother in law, Anita and Norman Aprile, of Nineveh; her nieces, Bonnie and Kirt Williams, and Holly Aprile; several cousins and lifelong friends, particularly the Comings family who were extremely caring and supportive during Bonnie’s illness. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich with Nancy New officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at South Plymouth Cemetery.
