Ina May Record


Ina May Record, 79, of Cedar St., formerly of Sherburne, NY, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Waterville Residential Care Center.
She was born April 26, 1938 in Scranton, PA, a daughter of the late Rexford and Ruth Thompson Crounse and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On April 18, 1959, Ina May married Dean F. Record in Scranton and they made their home in Sherburne. She had worked for Cossitt Motor Express in Hamilton and Norwich until retiring. Ina May and Dean had been successful operating the Sherburne Food Co-op from their home for several years, and later moved to the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home in Morrisville where they became an important asset to the firm. Ina May was a loving, kind and caring person who especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She and Dean spent many summers camping at the Cedar Valley Campsite in Morrisville.
Ina May was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sherburne.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Dean; a daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Gary Tackabury of Norwich; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kimberly Record of Cortland; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Fred Baker of Sherburne; brother and sister-in-law, John and Joyce Crounse of Clarks Summit, PA; grandchildren, Erica and Michael Tackabury-Desiderio of Morrisville, NC; Emily and Zachary Tackabury-Thomsen of Delphi; Megan Record of Ballston Lake; Reilly Record of Cortland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, at a later date.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7pm prior to the service.
