Martha Y. Dropp


Martha Y. Dropp, 81 of Oxford passed away on November 12, 2017 at Chenango Memorial Hospital. She was born in New York City a daughter of the late Austin and Elizabeth (Basse) York. On February 14, 1999 she married Paul Dropp, who survives.
Besides her husband, Paul she is survived by her children, Donna (John) Winterberger of Spencerport, NY, Tami (Guy) Vandermark of Euclid, OH, and Robin Linko of Endwell, NY; her step daughters, Maralena Dropp of Binghamton, and Therese (Ted) Carey of Lisle; her sister, Norma (Carl) Lampitt of Hanceville, AL; her grandchildren, Jenifer, Cheryl, Jeff, Erica (Robbie), Jimmy, Stephanie, Ashley (John), Erica, and Christopher; her great grandchildren, Alex, Eddie, Tyler-John and Nathan. She is also survived by long-time friends, Norma and Ken Poyneer.
Martha loved Christmas, her favorite time of year, and she would like all to celebrate and rejoice in the beauty of the season. She retired from Lourdes Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and cross stitch. Family was very important to her, especially preparing meals for all of them. She and Paul enjoyed traveling. She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Vestal and currently a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norwich.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 94 North Broad St., Norwich, NY with Vicar Laura Wade officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery. At Martha’s request, please do not wear black for the funeral.
