James V. Bevilacqua, 90, of South New Berlin, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Valley View Manor. James was born on December 23, 1926 in Endicott, NY, the son of the late Salvatore and Dorothy (Randisi) Bevilacqua. He served his country in the US Navy from 1944-1946. After his military service, he went to work at Norwich Shoe Company for over 40 years. He also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, bowling and playing golf. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Norton. He is survived by his second wife of 29 years, Arlene (Montgomery) Bevilacqua; his children, James, Jr. and Gabrielle Bevilacqua, Christine Manwarren and Dave Archambo, Andrew Bevilacqua, Martin Bevilacqua, Lisa and Dennis Campbell, Renee Bevilacqua, and Todd Bevilacqua; his step-children, Timothy Miles and Michelle Miles; 20 Grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; his brother, Sam Bevilacqua; his sisters, Fran Pullano, Mary Foster, Josephine Haus, and Geri Bates, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with James’ wishes, there will be no formal services. Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich.
