Louise Krivicich Collins, age 96, of Los Altos, CA, passed away at her son’s home in Newnan,GA, on Thursday, October 12, 2017.She was born in Coventry, NY, on July 16, 1921.
After attending Columbia University she began her career as an electrical draftsman at the Scintilla Magneto Company designing components for WWII era aircraft engines. She later worked for General Electric as a draftsman in the atomic energy division. Her career took her to California, where she married Gordon Collins on July 23,1960, and they settled in Los Altos. In addition to pursuing her lifelong hobby of antique glass,she volunteered her time at St. Simon’s and Villa Sienna in Los Altos. She enjoyed travelling
with her husband and also assisting him with his hobby, recording for Bay Area youth music
programs.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon, children Gordon Jr. (Katie), Patrick (Megan), Christine, daughter-in-law Mercedes, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, brother Francis,sister Elizabeth (Jim), and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents John and Celina Krivicich, brother John Jr., sisters Ann and Dorothea, son Daniel, and a granddaughter Catherine Marie.
Service will be held at the Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene, NY, at 2:30 PM Thursday October 19,2017.
