Michell Lynn Bates, 21, of Norwood, CO, passed away on Aug. 16,
2017 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Michelle was born on
July 12, 1996 in Sidney, NY. The daughter of Christopher Bates and
step-mother Wakana Bates of Freidricksburg, VA, and mother Tricia
Bates of Norwich, NY. She is also survived by her sister Gabrielle
Bates and brother Justin Bates of Norwich, NY, her 2 grandmothers,
Carol Wilt of CO and Ellen Morrison of NC.
A 2015 graduate of Norwood High School, she attended CMU in
Grand Junction, CO where she was accepted into the social work program.
She was part of young life and was learning to play the guitar.
Michelle never met a person she didn’t call a friend. Her contagious
laughter will be missed by everyone.
Calling hours will be held at Fahys Funeral Home in Norwich, NY
on Wed. Sept. 6th from 5-7pm. Services will be held on Thurs. Sept.
7th at 10am at the United Methodist Church in Mt.Upton, NY.
