Rodney L. Furgison, 70, of Sherburne passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, August 24, 2017 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Rodney was born on April 20, 1947 in Bainbridge the son of Clifford and Beatrice (Eggleston) Furgison. He grew up in the Bainbridge and Norwich areas where he attended the local schools. In September of 1967 he entered the United States Army serving his country until his honorable discharge in September of 1970. His working career spanned many years first with Norwich – Eaton and subsequently with Kenyon Press for a period of 20 years from which he retired.
Rodney’s passion in life was golf. He played on many of the areas courses and if need be would even play in the snow.
Rodney is survived by his longtime friend Cyndi Berger of Sherburne along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Irene Miner and brothers Vaughn, Wayne and Dale.
In keeping with Rodney’s wishes there will be no formal services and burial will be in the South Brookfield Cemetery.
