NANCY STROBEL
Nancy Strobel, 62 of Georgetown, NY passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2017.
She is survived by her loving husband, Garth Strobel of Georgetown; her father, Phillip Crooks of Oxford; her children, Christie and Timothy Murphy and daughter Caleigh of Northborough, MA; Sarah and Regis Madzudzo and children, Megan Cole, Chloe Cole and Chiedza Madzudzo. of Kerrville, TX, Sean O’Bryan and Jennifer Greene and children, Abigail and Brianna of Sherburne, Brendan and Jillian O’Bryan and son Egan of Binghamton; her brothers and sisters, David and Tracey Crooks of Chenango Bridge, Carol and Bruce Vanderpool of Waverly, Karen and Robert Van Kleeck of Chenango Bridge, and Phillip and Pamela Crooks of Dundee. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her mother, Charlotte Crooks.
Nancy graduated from Corning Community College with a degree in Chemical Technology and SUNY Cortland with a Bachelor of Science degree and Master’s Degree in Biology. She and her husband currently own The Georgetown Inn. She enjoyed baking, especially desserts for the Inn. She was a former Girl Scout leader and a Den Mother of the Cub Scouts. She was an analytical chemist at Procter and Gamble for several years. She enjoyed camping, hiking, and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress. She loved people and worked hard to support Relay for Life and Wounded Warriors.
Services will be held at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Stephen Reese officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
