JOHN J. LYONS III
John Joseph Lyons III, 50, of Hurricane, WV, went to be with the lord, on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at home surrounded by family. John was born on November, 6, 1966, in New Haven, CT, to the late John J. Lyons and Marion A. Onley Lyons.
John was a man of integrity, who believed in the power of humor and the loyalty and strength found in family. He will be missed.
John served his country in the Navy, was a Master Mason in the Phoebus Masonic Temple, Lodge #82, was a Boy Scout Troop leader of Troop 61, New Berlin, NY and had been an Engineer for SUNY in Oneonta, NY. He more recently was a Maintenance Technician with Teays Valley Manor, WV.
John is survived by, his wife, Lorie Randolph Lyons, of Hurricane, WV; children, Amanda Lyons (John Mongillo) of Apalachin, NY and John J. Lyons IV, of New Berlin, NY; step-children, Brandon Miller (Tara) of Raleigh, NC, Drew Miller (Alissa) of Taylorsville, NC, Bryson Karbley (Sara Ryan) of Huntington, WV and Ostin Karbley of Huntington, WV; sisters, Bridget Jacques (Rick) of Boynton Beach, FL and Kathleen Titman (Harold) of Mexico, NY; along with grandchildren, Cecelia Mongillo and Millie Miller.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from the Hurricane Church of Christ, officiated by Minister Ed Covert.
Another memorial service will be held at 1p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the VFW of Endicott, 103 South Nanticoke Avenue, Endicott, NY, 13760. Please join us to celebrate John’s life and wear red, white and blue to honor his service.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Hospital, a charity that John supported.
