WILSON CARSON
Wilson Carson, 93, of South Otselic, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Norwich Rehabilitation Center. He was born on November 23, 1923, to the late Arthur and Edith Carson.
Throughout his life, Wilson was known as a hardworking and friendly man who was proud of his family and was very generous with his time and his talents. Wilson was a dairy farmer for his entire life, spending over 50 years farming in South Otselic. In his spare time, he played basketball and also enjoyed a game of Pitch. He was a fan of the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and the Dodgers. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of South Otselic. He was a well-liked man who will be remembered for his love of family, farming, sports and the “kitten” joke that he constantly told to his grandchildren.
Wilson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathryn, of Norwich; his children, Melody and James Smith, of Attleboro, MA; Paul Carson, of Norwich; Edward and Christina Carson, of South Otselic; Nancy and Angelo Stevens, of Oxford; and Christopher Carson, of Oxford; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Vida Finnegan, of Norwich. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Howard Carson, William (Bill) Carson, Erwin Carson, and Arnold Carson. A memorial service for Wilson will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 1st, at First Baptist Church of South Otselic, 130 County Road 13, South Otselic with Pastor Jim Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service. He will be laid to rest privately at Riverside Cemetery in South New Berlin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich.
