Pearl E. Northrup


Pearl E. Northrup, 91 of McDonough passed away on March 12, 2017 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Residential Health Care Facility. She was born on April 2, 1925 in Moose Lake, MN a daugh- ter of the late Peter and Isabelle Folstad. She was predeceased by her husband, Hawley Northrup in 2001.
She is survived by her children, Randy and Linda Northrup of McDonough, Stephen and Pam Northrup of Greene and a special daughter Debbie and Joe Hornbeck of Stamford, NY; her grandchil- dren, Annette and (Brandon) Barrows, Amanda and (Geoff) Wells, Andrea Northrup, Trevor Price, and Jordan Price; her brother, James (Robert) and Maxine Folstad of Minneapolis, MN. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her daugh- ter Marianne Price and her brother, Clarence Folstad.
Pearl was an active and long-time member of the McDonough United Methodist Church. She was an honorary member of the McDonough Fire Department, where she was a commissioner for many years and served as their treasurer. She was an active member of the McDonough Improvement Committee. She retired from the US Postal Service as Postmaster in McDonough. She was an election teller in McDonough for many years. She enjoyed attending the Willet Senior Center. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing pool, reading and puzzles. She liked gol ng, roller skating, and bowling. She was a long time member of the Moose Club.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Residential Health Care Facility for their excellent and per- sonal care of their mother.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with Rev. Diane DeLuzio, pastor of her church of ciating. Burial will be at a later date in Cincinnatus Cemetery.
